Stampotique Week 2 Designer Challenge Using Only One Layer

Had to put my thinking cap on for this one....yes it hurt..lol.

Stamp image on hot press watercolor paper and heat set. When cool take a small detail brush and load with dish soap. Work the soap into the brush; take a piece of paper towel and remove the excess soap. No... I have not lost my mind...this is a old watercolor trick to save you from ruining your brush. Dip your brush into art masking fluid and apply to the stamp image; work quickly and don't over apply. Make sure all the image is masked off: let the masking fluid dry.

I wet the watercolor paper with water; sprayed dylusions colors (purple, blue, pink and red) When dry using stencils spray your colors; I used red, orange and black. Take black acrylic paint and a tracing wheel run the wheel through the paint then on to your paper to create stitching lines. I flicked watered down red paint, I then used different sized topped and dipped in white and blue to make the different sized circles.

When dry I doodled the hill for her to stand on as well as the circles. When everything is dry remove the masking fluid with a eraser. I left the image uncolored..I like the contrast of the white paper. Hope you try the masking fluid...it opens all sorts of possibilities.
